As a child I loved this haunting melody that seemed so outside of the popular Christmas fare. Specifically, I found Julie Andrew’s recording of this carol on her 1975 album, The Secret of Christmas, so completely compelling. That recording inspires this arrangement with an alto and soprano echo solo and complex added note chords which intensify the mysterious and confounding lyrics of this carol.
